We utilize the judicial process and intelligence-led resources to identify where assets are, including through multijurisdictional injunctions, disclosure orders, freezing orders, attachment and seizure orders, execution orders, and asset arrests. We have longstanding relationships with leading investigation firms, which assist in the investigation of complex transactions and advise on local and international civil and criminal proceedings to secure and maximize the recovery of assets. One example of our success in this area is our recent trial win for BTA Bank, in which we secured a unanimous jury verdict worth more than $200 million in a case where we identified and froze significant assets in New York City that had been looted from the bank in Central Asia.
Beyond our asset recovery work, we are deeply experienced at securing the enforcement of awards that our clients have won. We understand the nuances of international jurisdictions and the levers available to us to help clients secure payment of awards when they face resistance from an opposing party. BSF acts as coordinating counsel on multijurisdictional recovery matters, which often involve multiple proceedings across the world, including offshore jurisdictions, to achieve payment in full for our clients. Our firm has achieved several significant victories in the recognition and enforcement of judgements in the U.S. courts as well as cases for and against sovereigns. For example, BSF advised Midtown in its enforcement and recognition proceedings in the U.K. in respect of two judgments from the New York courts, totaling $600 million. More recently, BSF went to federal court in New York to secure payment of an award for client Trividia Health that had been granted in an ICC arbitration but was not paid by Nipro Corp. until we secured a court order directing the turnover of stock certificates in U.S.-based Nipro Holdings America.
