Hamish Hume was named a 2017 Litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal, one of 25 people “who have helped make a difference in the fight for justice.”
In a profile, the National Law Journal wrote that Hume successfully represented data management company Palantir in challenging a U.S. Army solicitation, convincing the Court of Federal Claims to hold, for the first time ever, that the government had violated a statute requiring it to purchase products from the commercial marketplace “to the maximum extent practicable.” The publication also noted Hume's successful representation of SpaceX in challenging an Air Force satellite delivery contract that had been awarded to an incumbent monopolist. He is currently representing the class of Fannie and Freddie shareholders challenging the 2012 action by the U.S. Treasury Department and the FHFA to replace Treasury's 10 percent dividend with a sweep of 100 percent of the companies' profits to Treasury. And he is helping to lead an antitrust case in Alabama that challenges the territorial divisions through which members of the Blue Cross Blue Shield system agree not to compete with one another.
