Tyler’s practice focuses on litigating complex business matters at the trial and appellate levels, and before U.S. and international arbitration panels. He also frequently represents both plaintiffs and defendants in products liability lawsuits and consumer protection class actions in courts around the country. 

Tyler’s diverse clients have included sovereign nations, Fortune 100 companies, class members in consumer protection class actions and nationwide multidistrict litigations, Indian tribes, and individuals in pro bono cases. He was selected to receive the 2016 Rising Star award by South Florida’s leading legal publication, the Daily Business Review. Prior to joining the firm, he clerked for federal judges in New Orleans and Miami, and worked as an associate in the antitrust group of Arnold & Porter in Washington D.C. 

Tyler’s representative matters include:

  • Representing a nationwide class of plaintiffs in the multidistrict litigation against Takata, Honda, Toyota, and other automotive companies concerning defective airbags in tens of millions of vehicles   
  • Representing the Cherokee Nation in litigation currently pending in tribal court and federal court concerning opioid diversion in the pharmacy supply chain
  • Defeating summary judgment sought by the United States and serving as co-lead trial counsel in a two-week federal bench trial against the Bureau of Prisons
  • Serving on several trial teams that successfully defended Philip Morris USA in jury trials brought by former smokers 
  • Helping to coordinate the global defense strategy for a foreign nation facing enforcement actions throughout Europe relating to an ICSID arbitration award
  • Serving as co-lead trial counsel for an investment fund manager in a $10 million breach-of-contract arbitration before the AAA, and obtaining a favorable award 
  • Serving as plaintiffs’ lead strategic counsel in class litigation against major pharmaceutical companies relating to defective chemotherapy, and authoring several appellate briefs to Missouri’s courts of appeal
  • Providing strategic advice to Chevron in relation to its successful prosecution of a RICO lawsuit in the Southern District of New York
  • Representing the founder of a major haircare company as plaintiff in a corporate derivative lawsuit against majority shareholders in New York state court 
  • Serving as counsel for a national insurance company in its multimillion dollar breach-of-contract lawsuit against its excess insurers
  • Representing independent pharmacies in ongoing antitrust cases proceeding in Missouri federal court and AAA arbitration against Express Scripts and CVS Health Corporation
