Michael’s experience spans a variety of issues, including appellate, securities, administrative law, and complex commercial litigation. He is deeply involved in pro bono work, particularly cases impacting LGBTQ+ rights and asylum seekers.

Since joining BSF, Michael has taken substantial responsibility in complex, fast-moving litigation matters nationwide in federal and state courts. He has managed discovery, drafted countless trial and appellate briefs, helped lead Supreme Court amicus briefing, and prepared senior attorneys for high-profile jury trials, oral arguments, and contested hearings. His work includes constitutional litigation, complex commercial disputes, high-stakes trial matters, and bankruptcy and receivership-related proceedings.

Michael was appointed to the New York County Democratic Committee’s Judicial Nominating Committee, which leads the Manhattan Democratic Party’s efforts to review and potentially endorse candidates seeking election to judicial seats on the New York State Supreme Court, Civil Court, and other elected judgeships.

Michael joined the firm after serving as a law clerk to the Hon. Justin R. Walker of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Prior to joining Boies Schiller Flexner, Michael worked as an associate at a prominent international law firm. 

Before practicing law, Michael worked on numerous political campaigns, was the press secretary and speechwriter for a successful high-profile congressional campaign, and was twice elected as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention.
