Partner Charles Fox Miller and associate Lauren Alperstein of the firm’s Hollywood, Florida, office were named Attorneys of the Month by Legal Aid Service of Broward County for providing pro bono services to a veteran in need of legal assistance. Mr. Miller, who heads the firm’s national Matrimonial and Family Law practice, and Ms. Alperstein took the veteran’s complex divorce case in March 2014. The case went to trial twice, with litigation-related costs advanced by Boies, Schiller & Flexner. “With the support of both attorneys and their firm, the veteran was able to conclude a difficult matter, successfully transition his family and focus on becoming self-sufficient,” the Legal Aid Service of Broward County said in a statement. “Because of their contributions, a veteran who otherwise might not have received legal assistance was able to get his life back on track.”
