BSF client, Courtroom View Network, and Partner, Jonathan Sherman continue their successful advocacy to allowing video cameras in federal courtrooms.  Recently, the Ninth Circuit Judicial Council, which oversees all trial courts in California and other western states, announced on December 19 an experiment in which cameras will be permitted in civil trials throughout the Ninth Circuit.  In reporting on the move, The New York Times wrote that BSF partner "Jonathan Sherman, a lawyer at the firm Boies, Schiller & Flexner, who has long worked on behalf of media companies to get cameras into courtrooms, called the court's move "a landmark moment" that could signal a shift in judicial attitudes and an expansion of public access to federal courts."
