The American Academy of Pediatrics has awarded Stuart Singer and Carl Goldfarb, partners in the Fort Lauderdale office of Boies, Schiller & Flexner, with 2015 Child Health Advocate Awards.
Mr. Singer and Mr. Goldfarb represent pediatricians in a class-action lawsuit against the Florida State Department of Health, the Florida Department of Children and Families, and the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration seeking access to medical and dental care for children covered by the Florida Medicaid program. The lawsuit, which has lasted more than a decade, is being handled pro bono by Boies, Schiller & Flexner in conjunction with the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia (PILCOP). Judge Adalberto Jordan found on December 31, 2014, that children who depend on the Florida Medicaid program are not receiving the care required by federal law.
The award presentation took place on October 26, 2015, in Washington, D.C.
