Boies Schiller Flexner LLP today announced that former Deputy Solicitor General Evan Ezray has rejoined the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office as a partner focused on appellate and complex commercial litigation.
“For a Florida litigator, there is no better place to practice than at Boies Schiller,” Evan said. “You can’t get a better mix of talent and cases than what I experienced working in our Fort Lauderdale office the first time around. In addition to the opportunity to rejoin that incredibly strong team, I was drawn to how well-integrated the office is with the rest of the firm. I look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with other BSF attorneys and the many wonderful clients we served then and continue to serve today.”
During his time at the Florida Solicitor General’s office, Evan represented the state in a wide variety of civil and criminal appeals. He handled all aspects of cases at the United States Supreme Court, Florida Supreme Court, and intermediate courts of appeal, including arguing cases himself and preparing the Solicitor General ahead of oral arguments.
“Evan is one of the best young lawyers I’ve had the privilege of working with,” said appellate practice co-leader Stuart Singer. “His experience working in the Florida Attorney General’s office will be of great benefit to our clients as we continue to navigate complex trials and the evolving appellate system. Additionally, his familiarity with our clients and colleagues will make his integration back into the firm seamless. I look forward to working closely with him again.”
During his time as an associate in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office, Evan spent several years working on notable appeals and trial-level cases, including for some of the firm’s core clients. Earlier in his career, he served as a law clerk to the Hon. Stephen A. Higginson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and to the Hon. Nicholas G. Garaufis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
“Evan is an incredible attorney, and we are thrilled to welcome him back,” said Managing Partners Sigrid McCawley, Matthew L. Schwartz, and Alan Vickery. “As the business and legal communities have continued to expand in Florida, Boies Schiller is well-positioned to remain the go-to firm for litigating high-stakes cases in the state, and Evan’s addition further strengthens our offering to clients in South Florida and beyond.”
