The AmLaw Litigation Daily reported on a ruling in federal court in Atlanta upholding a new policy by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on the allocation of donor livers.
Litigators at Boies Schiller Flexner have been at the forefront of pushing to remove arbitrary geographic distribution criteria so that donated livers go to the sickest candidates first, Litigation Daily wrote.
“The new liver allocation policy will benefit all liver waitlist candidates and we are pleased to be a driving force in bringing equitable organ allocation to patients across the country,” said partner Motty Shulman, who worked on the case with counsel Evelyn Fruchter and associate Reed Forbush.
